On July 7, the "Lancang-Mekong-Chengdu-Europe Express" carrying automotive spare parts departed from Chengdu International Railway Port. This train, originating from Rayong, Thailand on July 1, arrived at Chengdu International Railway Port after running on the China-Laos Railway from Vientiane, and then continued its journey on the China-Europe freight train route to Europe. It is scheduled to arrive in Budapest, Hungary, on July 17, marking the interconnectedness of the China-Laos Railway and the China-Europe freight train routes. It is understood that the opening of "Lancang-Mekong-Chengdu-Europe Express" realizes direct rail transportation from Southeast Asia to Europe, significantly reducing logistics transit time to as short as 15 days, which saves more than half of the time compared with traditional sea transport.
